After this weekends NFL games, we saw another couple of teams be eliminated from playoff contention. A few division leaders started distancing themselves a bit, but there really is so much left undetermined with some divisions still being anyone’s for the taking. The wild card race remains wide open and still nobody has clinched a playoff berth.
Around the NFL
Week 15 and bye weeks are over! We’ve got Saturday games, Chiefs vs. Chargers division game on Thursday night, and Patriots vs. Colts a big game on Saturday. Two top teams the Ravens and Packers are facing off Sunday. A lot of big games for determining who makes the post season. As if things weren’t exciting enough, not to mention the most players on the COVID list since the list began.
I’m a little behind but just started watching the Man in the Arena on ESPN+ and let me tell you, goosebumps. It makes a Bucs vs. Rams Super Bowl even more interesting learning the history. Tom Brady’s former team, the Patriots, are leading their division, facing off with this season’s Hard Knocks team, the Colts. I have Johnathon Taylor on my fantasy team, so I’m excited for them to be off their bye. Both teams had a bye last week and I saw that the Patriots “won” the bye week with all of the movement that happened.
Week 14 Pick Recap
On Sunday I went 9 and 3 with my moneyline picks and both of my parlays missed on one leg. See my previous post to see what those picks were.
The Chiefs have busted me a few times, in fantasy and betting, this season. Last week their defense scored so much that Travis Kelce hardly got the ball, which ended up killing that parlay for me. Derek Carr still got it done and Hunter Renfrow was his biggest target. Renfrow is on pace for a 1,000 yard season while Carr sits at #2 for passing yards.
My Rams vs. Cardinals parlay was four legs, missing the fourth by just 5 yards for DeAndre Hopkins who is now out with a knee injury. We got not just one, but two James Conner touchdowns. It came down to the wire with the over and Matthew Stafford’s passing yards, which made it an exciting game to watch.
FanDuel has a promo that if you bet $20 in same game parlays, you automatically get $10 back. They recently changed it so you can spread that $20 across multiple games. If you sign up using my link, we both get bonus funds.

Another AFC West Matchup
Chiefs at Chargers Thursday Night Football
The Chiefs are back facing another division rival. They beat the Raiders handily and should take care of the Chargers too. But the Chargers have been playing well, winning their last two. Justin Herbert is making a case with his arm. He had 281 yards and 4 touchdowns when the Chargers won the first matchup between these two teams.
The Chiefs are favored in this one, but it’s sure to be a wild night. Both teams have averaged the same amount of points this year but the Chargers have been giving up more points. I could use some Kelce and Tyreek Hill for my fantasy teams. Another good problem to have, deciding between Matthew Stafford and Justin Herbert for my QB this week.
A wild game needs some wild picks. I’m going to go with Herbert in the air and on the ground, with alternate passing yards. I’m also taking Mahomes rushing yards and returning to Kelce alternate receiving yards and adding Tyreek alternate yards for good measure. A little bit of a different approach, more legs but higher odds for those legs.
Clash of MVPs
Packers at Ravens Sunday 3:25pm CDT
The Packers can clinch their playoff spot pretty easily this week – either with a win or a Vikings loss. The Ravens lead their division by just one game and anyone in the AFC North could end up on top still. Aaron Rodgers showed us he still owns the Bears.
I hope Lamar is back, although Huntely did well. Ravens are coming off two back to back division losses and winning would put them in a better spot in their division. Browns will be up against the Raiders while the Bengals face the Broncos and Steelers matched up with the Titans. Check back this weekend for some more picks!
